Our GREAT NORTHERN story
Great Northern Spice Co is a husband and wife duo based in the pretty town of Northwich, Cheshire. Myself (Paul) has always enjoyed cooking, but when I met my now wife Lotty who is type 1 diabetic, I soon realised how important ingredients in food (like sugar and additives) really was to health. Lotty has to manage her blood glucose levels carefully, but was faced with so many products on the shelves with sneaky additives and sugar. So, I donned my chef hat and whipped up spice blends that are not only innovative but also free of the nasties!
With Lotty’s background in marketing, the brand came to life. We launched the business in March 2024 at artisan markets across Cheshire and have grown a huge following of customers who seek great food that free from additives and preservatives, without compromising on flavour.
Now, we spice up the UK with over 40+ Seasonings, Rubs, Sea Salt Pots & Curry Blends, with healthy recipes to kickstart your culinary adventures - perfect for romantic dinners or family feasts!
Our products are sold via our online shop to buddy home cooks around the UK, at artisan markets and food festivals in the North West and at selected farm shop and deli locations.
Our mission? To sprinkle some joy into healthy eating without the nasty stuff. We want you to whip up world flavours that not only taste amazing, but are quick and easy. And the cherry on top? All our products are gluten-free, vegan-friendly, and 100% sugar-free. Get ready to spice up your life!

Originally a Manchester boy, now living in Cheshire. When he's not hand blending spices for Great Northern, Paul works as a Business Development Manager in education.
On weekends, if you don't see him at an artisan market, he's likely to be playing cricket in the Cheshire league.

Lotty works as a full time Digital Marketing & Design Freelancer, helping small & medium businesses grow (get in touch below if you're a small business looking for marketing, website and branding support).
On weekends, she'll be with Paul trading on the artisan markets or watching the cricket with a picnic.
